Welcome to Vrdnik
A
small place
that will inspire you. Maybe its 260 m
altitude, maybe thermal water or maybe
just colorful demographics yet this
village has a special character. The
history of this small pace begins in 3rd
century AC during the rule of emperor
Probus. First written documents
mentioning Vrdnik however are from the
14th century. Beside the documents there
is also a 14th century tower Castellum
Rednek overlooking the village.
Another very important historical
monument of this region is Vrdnik's
Ravanica Monastery. It guards partial
remains of 14th century Serbian emperor
Lazar who died in the Battle of Kosovo
in 1389.
Entire
region around Vrdnik is full of
historical sites, mostly monasteries.
There are also parks and hiking trails
